Hey Kids! We Have Some New Books In The Library!!

"Love" by Matt de la Pena, "Lives of Scientists" by Kathleen Krull, and "Pete the Cat and the Cool Cat Boogie" by James Dean

"Love", according to Kirkus Review, is the sound of the first voices we ever hear;  it's the color of the night sky over a happy home; it is the echo of summer laughter.  This book resonates that love is all around us...and in the most unsuspecting places.

In the "Lives of the Scientists" the author, Kathleen Krull, gives a glimpse of biographical clips of important scientists of the world.  She adds extra unfamiliar insights into each scientist's life, giving us a deeper understanding of their experiences.

"Pete the Cat and the Cool Cat Boogie" is back in action!  He's learning a new dance-which is the Cool Cat Boogie!  This book even gives us some of Pete's step-bey-step dance moves to dance along with Pete!

Happy Reading!

Spring Book Fair March 14-21 "Paws for Books"

Our Spring Book Fair begins Wednesday, March 14th!  The theme is "Paws for Books".  Most all students love dogs and cats so Scholastic has done a great job bringing forth books with this theme.  The following dates are important for the Book Fair:

March 14th-21st

Book Fair will be open during regular school hours

March 17th (Sat.)

Book Fair open from 9:00 to 12:00

March 20th

Book Fair opens at 4:30 for Related Arts Night but will close during the Talent Show.

During the student's regular library or STEM time, All for Books will be from March 5th through March 9th.  Students that can will bring $1 to spin the wheel three spins.  One spin is 50 cents.  Whatever number they land on, they will draw a number out of a box and see if it matches the number the wheel stops on.  If it does, the student will win a $5 gift certificate for the Book Fair.  If it doesn't match, the student will get to pick out a sucker or a bookmark.  This is done during their library/STEM time so they will not be missing instruction.  Refer to your student's library schedule.
